OUR HISTORY

Sermacom Inc. was founded in 1994 by Richard Cormier (M.Sc., B.S.A), an experienced sales and marketing executive who was driven to become a serial entrepreneur. In its beginnings, Sermacom was one of only a handful of marketing agencies to specialize in the manufacturing sector in Canada. Offering various marcom services to a wide variety of companies, Sermacom was a pioneer in both traditional and digital sales conversion techniques.

In 1996, Sermacom launched Stratcor, a marketing consulting firm that specialized in marketing services to the “B to B” community. Having done many employee search and evaluation mandates as part of the marketing planning process, in 2014, we launched TopReps, a sales and marketing personnel optimization company.

Today Sermacom is the holding company for Stratcor and Topreps and is affiliated non legally to Topleads, a fast growing sales lead generation company.

For more than 20 years, Stratcor has been the “silent partners” of more than 500 companies who depend on our skills to grow their businesses.

Being one of the last kids on the block in a fiercely competitive space such as personnel recruitment has its advantages. Having consulted and managed sales and marketing personnel for as long as we can remember, starting TopReps may have been a logical step for use, but if we were to do it right, we had to adopt a progressive business model. Our competitive advantage is not the fact that we focus solely on B to B sales and marketing personnel, nor the fact that we intimately understand the psyche of the people we hire. It all has to do with our “research based” approach to evaluating, hiring and training the best personnel in the customer conversion business.

As most successful startups, TopLeads started out as a self-serving venture. Our founder Charles was building various B2B startups and was disappointed in the ROI of marketing platforms. Having a sales background, Charles looked at more traditional methods like calling, emailing, and LinkedIn Outreach. He saw that the sales industry hadn’t modernized in a while and decided to start offering “SDRing as a Service” to other ambitious startups looking for growth.
